Thanks to the great search engine Google , I came across a site Cooks.com that offered a new spin on the old Manwich sloppy Joe.
1 lb. ground beef
1 can Manwich
2 cans crescent rolls
2 pkgs. shredded cheese
Heat oven according to biscuit instructions. Brown ground beef. Add Manwich and simmer. In baking dish cover bottom of dish with a layer of crescent rolls, then a layer of cheese. Add Manwich mixture. Top with a layer of cheese and the last can of crescent rolls. Bake according to instructions on crescent rolls. Let cool 5 minutes.
Being that there are only three of us eating dinner I used 1/2lb on ground beef and 1/2 a can of Manwich. Which i should have used the whole pound because my Husband fell in love with this casserole.
I didn't have crescents on hand so i used Grands biscuits.
I browned the ground beef and mixed in the can of Manwich, then added cheese into that mix. I poured the Manwich into the casserole dish and added more cheese. Then topped that with the biscuits and more cheese. Baked the casserole in the oven until the biscuits were done.
Dinner time rolled around, the Hubby came home from work. Our daughter starts to get unset for no reason at all. I get everyone to the table and serve the Manwich casserole. My husband fell in love. His words, " Even though Skylee was crying it was great dinner. You should have made more. You keep cooking like that I'll have to stick around." LOL!
I have to say myself it was awesome. I've always loved sloppy joes and this just made it so much better. Also all the cheese just put it over the top.
I give it an 8 out of 10.
